In December 2014, a chic Absolut Vodka outdoor lounge area was installed in the courtyard of premium entertainment venue Zone 6, and is proving to be uber popular with socialites. Zone 6 is set in an industrial warehouse, in Diepkloof, Soweto, where the massive building is able to accommodate a few thousand guests.
The outdoor lounge was completed by brand experience experts NightVision Spaces, the sister company to leading interior design firm, Inhouse Brand Architects. NightVision Spaces was commissioned to create the lounge by ongoing client Pernod Ricard.
NightVision Spaces’ design concept fixated on the corporate colours of Absolut Vodka, with blue as the core of the scheme, and accents of white, grey and black running throughout, to keep the brand identity prominent. The courtyard walls were spray painted by a local graffiti artist selected by the venue owner, to create various and contrasting points of interest.
A modular outdoor seating system was installed, complete with bespoke upholstery. Custom-made tables in the form of Absolut Vodka bottles were specially manufactured for external use.
NightVision Spaces also successfully refurbished the external bar area. Creative Director Aidan Hart and lead designer Cara Siegers added a new decorative element to beautify the metal grille that protects the bar front when the venue is closed. They introduced laser cutouts in the shape of Absolut Vodka bottles, again in the brand’s signature blue.
One of the most striking features of the venue is the large Absolut Vodka signage in the shape of a bottle, positioned at the Zone 6 entrance. It features animated LED and strobe lighting that captures the attention of partygoers.
The new Absolut Vodka lounge has vastly improved the venue, and has been well received by socialites – making it the top-notch zone to spend your summer!
