The new entrance created intrigue for the rest of the interiors in the space, which included a double volume ceiling, multiple windows with one specific window looking onto the new pool and garden area. The feature wall was decorated with a strikingly beautiful leafy green wallpaper along with two natural pendants. The room was also home to a timber balustrade, which wrapped around half of the room. This element continued down the wall which concealed the guest bathroom below the staircase.
The lounge, kitchen and dining areas were connected and extended into the garden using the new stacking doors InHouse installed. The dining rooms’ ceiling lights emphasised the oak timber joinery elements in the kitchen.
The braai/sunroom was a highlight for InHouse because of its incredible views and soft natural light. The two corners of the area housed stacking doors which were welcomed by the garden and its incomparable views. The room gained three portholes which allowed the natural light to flood through the specifically chosen feature element – the slatted timber ceiling.
The pool was relocated, which resulted in a larger grass area creating the opportunity for a lounging area by the pool. Frameless glass balustrades and hedges were installed around the perimeter of the outdoor space and had special lights attached for ambience in the evenings.
The design of the interiors oozes luxury, chic seaside living. The timber elements on the ceilings, joinery and oak flooring, enhanced the warmth of the rooms. Each room in the building was given a fresh coat of paint along with new joinery elements and flooring.
The TV room was created through the connecting of two area’s and doors which led to the back passage of the house. Like most of the interiors, the oak elements were used in this space to give it warmth which also suited the functionality of the room, being used as a home office too.
To create an interactive, social home, InHouse connected the timber elements and its warmth to the beautiful views of Cape Town Atlantic Seaboard.
