Following the successful redesign of John Brown Media’s Cape Town office, Inhouse Brand Architects was commissioned to design the company’s London branch. The design makes use of a monochromatic colour scheme with pops of colour in the form of turquoise and blue that serve as a visual nod to the original John Brown Media branding. The interior design drives conversation in the workplace through the incorporation of breakaway areas into an innovative spatial plan.
A notable feature in the design is the internal staircase, which connects the ground and first floors, as well as the second and third floors. The stairwell drives collaboration and office dialogue by connecting the building and doing away with traditional office access points, such as small elevators and fire escapes. The result does away with the idea of working in silos; instead it encourages integration among employees through its open-plan design.
