The eclectic atmosphere of Sea Point, required an eatery like NV80 to demonstrate design elements that were both functional and aesthetic. Requiring a joinery for wine bottles, glasses and condiments, InHouse created a service station with tubing above the bar to hang the glasses and store the bottles. The framed fluted glass, which cordons off the area, allows customers to view the eatery’s functional space as pleasing to the eye.
Intimate dining experiences need specific spacing, therefore dividing the eatery’s space was the only way forward. Creating a focal point within this space required a sizeable central joinery unit. This new focal point stored and displayed hanging glasses, wine bottles and plants.
Installing new lighting at the entrance of the establishment gave it, its own identity. The green herringbone subway tiles on the entrance wall were different to the new wall lights between the pill-shaped mirrors, and the pendants over the booths. The LED lights in the joinery and shelving completed the interior lighting and differentiated the inside and outside identities of the restaurant.
While creating intimate dining spaces with focal points and space division, InHouse also designed new seating types that produced more comfortable seating arrangements. Creating diversity in seating was achieved through five new booth seats, two new banquette seats and reupholstering the existing bar stools, banquette seats, sofa and scatters with the same vinyl fabric. The burnt orange colour was as much an inspiration for NV80 as it is on trend, therefore using it in this material was perfect for the restaurant.
InHouse Brand Architects noticed the difference small changes and details had within the NV80 space. Colour and light impacted the atmosphere of the restaurant and demonstrated the significance of using space correctly. NV80 is open for business with a new eclectic atmosphere for diners to experience.
