Correct lighting ensures a feeling of liveliness in the area, and in the case of Two on Long, it added to the atmosphere the client wanted. Lightning was added to the lobby space and all the way up to each lift lobby. The lift lobbies on each floor were stripped of old granite, and wood cladding and curved ceilings were straightened off to create a slick, clean, contemporary impression.
The new signage was installed using lightweight and cut-out lettering with sizeable bold floor numbers for each floor. Studio apartments on the roof deck (21st floor) were completely stripped out and turned into new modern studio apartments. The apartment studios were designed with metro tiles, light oak details and bright white joinery with grey contrasts.
The contemporary ‘city’ feeling was created through the black sanware, ironmongery and door handles as well as the new decks to take in the incredible 360-degree views of the Cape Town and the Atlantic beachfront. The apartments were designed with new black aluminium framed windows and white wood Venetian blinds.
